Capvion is a boutique strategy and M&A advisory firm. We work with telecom, technology and digital infrastructure businesses, and with the investors behind them, on decisions where the capital at stake is significant and the right answer is not obvious.
Engagements are senior-led. The person you meet is the person who does the work, which limits how much we take on at any one time. That is deliberate.
The experience behind the advice
Sander Barens spent approximately eighteen years at Expereo, in senior executive roles including Chief Commercial Officer and Chief Product Officer. Over that period the company developed from a much smaller international connectivity business into a global managed network and technology company.
The work was operational rather than advisory. Establishing and developing the APAC business. Global commercial leadership, then global product leadership. Building and managing a supplier ecosystem past three thousand partners. Digital platform transformation, and product and service transformation alongside it. Acquisitions, post-merger integration and three successful exits, with the operating discipline that comes from working through several private equity ownership cycles and the boards and investors attached to each.
That is the difference the advice rests on. A growth plan reads differently when you have been accountable for delivering one. A diligence question is sharper when you have been on the receiving end of the answer. An integration timetable is more honest when you have run one.
He now works with management teams, investors and technology businesses through Capvion, and writes Capvion Insights and Capvion Field Notes on capital, growth and technology adoption.
Why clients call
You are preparing to sell, or being approached
Owners and management teams use Capvion to understand what a buyer will actually test, where the equity story is thin, and what can be fixed before a process starts rather than explained away during one. That work is set out under selling, or thinking about it.
You are considering an investment
Investors use Capvion for a sector read, a screen against a stated thesis, or Operator Diligence on whether the business can deliver what the model assumes.
You are running the business
Leadership teams use Capvion on growth, market entry, portfolio, capital allocation and technology decisions, including where AI adoption creates value and where it does not.
Where to meet us

Associates
